Fengqi Chang’an Aesthetics Museum

Inspired by nature, traditional Chinese gardens, and landscape paintings, through the combo of different sizes of functional forms, architects combine various courtyards and inlay the elements of verandas to create a continuous, flexible, and rich garden space. Besides the usage for the exhibition, the building takes the experience of visitors in the garden into account. The courtyards are set up according to various functions, including the ones for display, communication, meditation, activities and etc., which are blended with each other through crisscrossed corridors.

Gearing

The conceptual circle shape of the International School of Debrecen symbolizes protection, unity and community. The different functions appear like connected gears, pavilions on a string arranged on an arc. The fragmentation of space creates a variety of community areas between the classrooms. The novel space experience and the constant presence of nature help students in creative thinking and manifesting their ideas. The pathways leading to the offsite educational gardens and the forest complete the circle concept creating an exciting transition between the built and natural environment.

The Landmark

The Landmark is a major new landmark proposed for the Lower North Shore of Sydney, Australia. The Landmark signifies the surrounding native landscape and geology by its seamless integration with lush green spaces. The design is inspired by the tranquil water surfaces of Sydney harbour reflecting the ever-changing dynamics and colour of city and sky. The spectacle reflections are captured in the best possible views with the unique configuration of each floor and balcony throughout the building.

ERC Autumn Village

The first element of the space is a vanishing bookstore, which is expressed with the concept of a "home". At the space core, there is a skylight courtyard at the center with a waxberry tree, surrounded by interlacing platforms of different floor heights, creating an open space layout. Moreover, the flexible changes of the displays and layouts suit different functions. All these resemble the image of the traditional Chinese courtyard residence, which also a place for the co-living of people, creating a sense of warmth for the urban life.

Shanxiao

The designer aimed for visitors to experience the artistic conception of ‘hidden in nature.’ the entire project has two parts, the sales office and the commercial area. the sales office is a smaller part of the building, but is executed with an exquisite and delicate aesthetic. it is naturally engraved and hidden in nature, thus highlighting the concept of ‘seclusion’.

The Sea Vibes

This installation was designed using the language of the sea: waves, as it was designed for a residential project along the shore of Dalian Bay, China. The installation is a huge cylinder formed by double-layer copper plates, consisting of 6000 plates hung in the frame according to specific permutation. When walk around the cylinder, this installation looks like waves running one after another. When the plates move in the sea wind, flashing light and colors are reflected, symbolizing spindrift. This design reprodued the vibes of the sea waves with a fixed installation.
